Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, the current MP for the Wa Central constituency, has announced that he will seek a 6th term as MP in the upcoming 2024 general elections. He has filed for nomination for the NDC primaries, which are scheduled to take place in May this year.
He was accompanied by the former Wa Central constituency communication officer, Alhaji Kabori, Alhaji Ali Wonwaana, party delegates, and other party faithfuls during the nomination process. The MP has been in office since 2005 and is seeking another term to continue serving the people of Wa Central.
In an interview with Saani Abacha on the nomination grounds, Pelpuo expressed confidence in his ability to continue delivering for his constituents. “I have done it before, and the people know that, given enough time, I will even do more, and that calls for this,” he said.
Pelpuo is a well-known figure in Ghanaian politics and has served in various capacities over the years. He has been a member of parliament since 2005 and has served on several committees, including the Finance Committee and the Public Accounts Committee. He has also been the Minister of State for Public Private Partnerships, Minister of State for Private Sector Development and President’s Special Initiative, and Minister of Youth and Sports.
In seeking another term, Pelpuo is aiming to continue his work in promoting development in the Wa Central constituency and contributing to the overall progress of Ghana. He is confident in his ability to secure the nomination and win the election, and is committed to working tirelessly to serve his constituents.
