This year, as we mark the 25th International AIDS Conference, the international community continues to work towards a future where HIV is no longer a life-threatening disease. In solidarity with this global effort, the AIDS 2024 Program is taking place in Germany, bringing together experts, advocates, and individuals from around the world to share knowledge, inspire action, and drive progress towards an AIDS-free generation.

Participation in this esteemed event is multifaceted, offering various avenues for engagement. You can participate as a delegate, a media personnel or as a volunteer. To apply as a delegate, you will need to pay a tiered registration fee of about $250 to $1260. when you register as a delegate means you can Participating in the conference, have Access to online content, Networking opportunities and Supporting a unified and equitable response to the pandemic.

However, if you want to attend the AIDS 2024 conference for free, then you need to register as a Volunteer.  To apply as a Volunteer means, you will Help with conference activities thus help coordinate programme activities, greet conference delegates, assist with registration, act as guides during the conference, staff various offices and activities, and perform other crucial tasks. You will also will receive free in-person access to conference sessions when not on duty, lunch each working day, a certificate of appreciation, and a free one-year IAS membership.

Apply as a Volunteer for AIDS 2024 Conference

To participate as a volunteer at the AIDS conference, follow these steps :
  • Visit the Volunteer Registration portal at AIDS 2024 Volunteer Program
  • Check eligibility: Ensure you are at least 18 years old and available for a minimum of four half-day shifts during the conference period.
  • Review the Volunteer Policy: Read and accept the AIDS 2024 Volunteer Policy and share the IAS values.
  • Submit the application form: Fill out the AIDS 2024 Volunteer Programme application form, detailing your availability and activity preferences.
  • Wait for selection and confirmation: The AIDS 2024 Volunteer Programme team will review applications on a first-come, first-served basis. If selected, you will receive a proposal and be invited to confirm your schedule and activity within 10 days.
  • Confirm your schedule: If you accept the proposed schedule, confirm your participation within the given timeframe.
  • Attend the mandatory meeting: Join the kick-off meeting, activity training, and venue walkthrough on Tuesday, July 26, from 15:00 to 18:00 at the conference venue.
  • Fulfill your volunteer duties: Complete your assigned shifts and tasks during the conference.

when you’re selected, you will receive invitation to attend the AIDS 2024 Conference without any additional charge but you will need to fund your visa and travelling cost.
