Upper West NPP Youth Wing Honors Founding Fathers in Health Walk

The Upper West regional youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) recently organized a health walk in memory of SD DOMBO and other founding fathers from the upper west region. The event, led by the regional youth organiser, Commander Hamid Saana, was held in Kaleo in the Nadowli Kaleo constituency.

The purpose of the program was to honour these heroes who laid their lives in service to their community, political unions, and nation, which led to the formation of the NPP we have today serving Ghana. The event was also aimed at encouraging many others to serve diligently and sacrificing, knowing that they will be honoured for their service. The organizers also wanted to erase the impression that the NPP is a southern party, as the party’s roots and metamorphosis make it the only party that has every Ghanaian character (North and South).

The health walk was accompanied by a health screening exercise, which included Hepatitis B tests and vaccination. The participants also had the opportunity to know their blood group.

Speaking to the media, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Tahiru Issahaku Moomen, elaborated on the need for more of such programs to educate people on the NPP’s roots in the region and erase the erroneous impression that the party is a southern party. Madam Nancy, the women’s organizer, signaled the party’s readiness to win more seats. The youth organiser, who championed the program, also admonished the people to give the NPP party the chance in the Nadowli constituency since the NDC has been using them as election tools without any meaningful development in their community and for themselves

Several dignitaries graced the occasion, including the regional 1st vice chairman, Alhaji White, the assistant regional secretary, Mr. Yussif, the constituency executives of the Nadowli Kaleo constituency, the regional deputy organiser, Mr. Dauda, the regional women organiser, Madam Nancy, the deputy regional NASARA coordinator, Mr. Tinkler, the Municipal Chief Executive of Wa municipality, Hon Tahiru Issahaku Moomen, DCE of DBI, Hon Imoro Sanda, the Constituency executives of Nadowli Kaleo Constituency, the Wa central assistant secretary, Hon Admuda, the national deputy TESCON coordinator, Mr. Bawumia, and the constituency youth organizers from Wa central, Lawra, and DBI. Various TESCON presidents and their members were also present.

The youth wing is thankful to all who joined to make this a success and will be organizing more educative and entertaining programs to rejuvenate the grassroots in preparation towards BreakingThe8. They urge everyone to show their support.
