Dr Rashid Pelpuo Peaked Second on NDC Parliamentary Primaries Ballot
The Wa Central National Democratic Party has conducted its parliamentary aspirants vetting, with Dr Rashid Pelpuo coming in at number two on the ballot. This marks the sixth time that Dr Pelpuo has contested since 2005, but he has never been ranked first on the parliamentary balloting.
Hudu Mugtari came in first on the ballot, followed by Dr Pelpuo, with lawyer Wahid at number three and Lawyer Mutiu Rahman at number four. However, despite not being ranked number one, Dr Pelpuo is seeking to be re-elected to continue his good works for the Wa Central constituents, and hopes are high that he will win this parliamentary primary.
Dr Pelpuo has a long track record of service to his constituents, having previously served as Minister of State at the presidency in charge of Public Private Partnerships in the John Mahama-led administration. He has been a vocal advocate for the development of the Wa Central area, and has championed several development projects to benefit his constituents.
