What is negotiation process ?
Negotiation is a process of communication between two or more parties with the aim of reaching a mutually acceptable agreement or resolving a conflict. The negotiation process typically involves the following steps:
- Preparation: This involves defining your objectives, researching the other party’s interests and goals, and anticipating possible objections or issues that may arise during the negotiation.
- Opening: This involves making an initial offer or proposal to the other party, and setting the tone for the negotiation.
- Bargaining: This involves exchanging offers and counteroffers, making concessions, and exploring options for compromise.
- Closing: This involves finalizing the agreement and resolving any remaining issues, such as the terms of the contract or the timing of the implementation.
- Implementation: This involves putting the agreement into action and following through on the commitments made during the negotiation.
It’s important to remember that negotiation is a dynamic process that requires flexibility, active listening, and effective communication skills to achieve a successful outcome.
