From teen mother to Women in Media Awards nominee: Martina’s journey of perseverance and success

Maasonoo Martina Zaabog, a young woman from the Upper West Region, is making a name for herself in the field of videography. Despite becoming a mother at a young age, she refused to let that stop her from chasing her dreams.

Currently working with City TV, Martina’s work has been featured on news programs, showcasing her talent and skills as a cameraperson. She attended the National Film and Television Institute to hone her craft and has since been producing stunning visuals that capture the essence of northern Ghana.

Martina’s story is one of perseverance and determination. Despite the challenges she faced as a teen mother, she continued to fight for a better life for herself and her son. Her dedication and hard work have earned her a nomination for the Women in Media Awards, which is a testament to her talent and dedication.

Recently, Martina was invited to speak at the International Women’s Forum by Life Again, an NGO that empowers and gives purpose to teen mothers. In her speech, she encouraged other teen mothers not to let their circumstances hold them back and to chase their dreams.
